I recall one candidate for Google's Cambridge office who endured 21 interviews before Google finally extended an offer. He turned us down. Can't say I blame him...

Well, since I started interviewing with Google, I've been offered a position at another job, worked there for two years, gotten married, had kids and am not looking for a job anymore....

Also, the time from last interview to offer was also super long., when Google's competitors were walking interviewees out after their slate with an offer in hand. My own hiring was considered lightning fast and three weeks had passed since my last onsite interview.
